⭐⭐⭐⭐ 4 Stars

Phoebe Stone has a plan. A plan she keeps secret until she arrives at the Cornwall Inn. Her plan is sidetracked when she finds a wedding taking place and the inn is filled with all the "wedding people". By happenstance, she meets Lila, the bride, in an elevator and impulsively shares the plan with her.

Lila and Phoebe strike up an unlikely friendship, and soon, Phoebe is pulled into Lila's world and into Lila's wedding. With a quirky yet fully realized cast of characters, Espach brings depth and warmth to a world that seemed cold and bleak at first glance.

My thoughts: The first part of the book was tough for me to navigate. The author really delves into Phoebe's depression and you're right there with her as she catalogs all the events that have led her to her decision. As her plan fails, and she's enveloped by the wedding people, I can't help but feel immediately that Phoebe belongs with them. She's meant to find them, and they her. Not only do they save her, but she, in turn, saves them. Wrought with unexpected humor, warmth, and comfort, this book was not at all what I was expecting. It was so much better!
